The Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy & Learning (TCALL), a center of the College of Education & Human Development, is accepting applications for 2012-2013 Barbara Bush Doctoral Fellowships. Up to four $25,000 fellowships will be awarded to Texas A&M University doctoral students who will conduct research on family literacy topics. The deadline to apply is February 6, 2012.

The Fellowship originated at TCALL in 2007, and has since been awarded to 13 doctoral student researchers at Texas A&M. The Fellowships are funded by The Barbara Bush Texas Fund for Family Literacy. Other projects of the Texas Fund include the First Lady's Family Literacy Initiative for Texas, administered by TCALL with First Lady Laura Bush serving as Honorary Chair; and the Barbara Bush Literacy Corps and Reading Discovery Program, literacy outreach programs of the George Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M.
