Ashley Burges, a kinesiology-physical education teacher certification student, has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2010 Jane Stallings Student Service Awards.

This award was established by the College of Education and Human Development's Advisory Council with the dual purpose of honoring Texas A&M University's first female dean, Jane Stallings, and recognizing outstanding senior education undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to the teaching profession.

Ashley will be recognized at the Dean's Roundtable, Friday, April 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the George Bush Library-Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

Ashley, along with other winners, will receive a certificate and a $1,000 award. The keynote speakers for the event will be former first lady Barbara Bush and Aggie women's basketball coach Gary Blair.
