Casey Ricketts, coordinator of recruitment and scholarships in the College of Education and Human Development, was one of 15 individual staff members selected to receive the 2014 President’s Meritorious Service Award.

Since 1986, The Association of Former Students has joined with the President of Texas A&M University in recognizing outstanding staff members for their praiseworthy service to the university with the President's Meritorious Service Awards. To be considered for the award, an employee must be a staff member of Texas A&M with a minimum of two years of service. Eligible individuals are nominated by any faculty staff at Texas A&M.

David Byrd, assistant dean for undergraduate academic affairs in the College of Education and Human Development, adds “Casey is a great asset to our college. He is uniquely proficient at building rapport with prospective students, and does well representing our academic programs to external constituencies. I have worked with Casey in various capacities throughout his career at Texas A&M, and he is a shining example of the Aggie spirit. This accolade is well-deserved evidence of his commitment to both Texas A&M and our college.”

Ricketts was honored at the 27th annual award presentation ceremony on February 26, 2014 on campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Interim University President Dr. Mark Hussey presented the awards and stated, "We are fortunate to have so many dedicated staff employees on our campus. Because of them, our faculty and students can reach their fullest potential. Because of them, Texas A&M is one of the nation's truly great public universities."
