Dr. Richard Kreider and the Exercise & Sport Nutrition Lab (ESNL) in the Department of Health and Kinesiology have been awarded Best for Health & Research Education – Texas by Global Health & Pharma (GHP) Magazine.

GHP Magazine is a multi-disciplinary community that recognizes entities within the health sector who push the industry forward in numerous ways.

Dr. Kreider, professor, director of the ESNL, and executive director of the Human Clinical Research Facility (HCRF), was recognized in the Sport & Nutrition Awards category for his research efforts stemming from the ESNL.

“We are very pleased to be recognized for a 2017 Sport & Nutrition Award,” Dr. Kreider said. “With a readership of over 260,000 wellness and healthcare-related professionals across the globe, GHP Magazine provides an inside track on the latest developments and issues affecting the global healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.”

For years, research conducted at the ESNL has helped shape the efficacy and safety of dietary supplements, weight loss, and exercise training programs. According to GHP Magazine, the Sport & Nutrition Award recognizes organizations across the sport and health fields that offer high quality support and services to their clients by delivering excellence.

The award also highlights the ESNL's ongoing nutrition-related research efforts alongside its many industry sponsors.

“Research emanating from the ESNL has literally impacted the lives of millions of individuals worldwide,” Dr. Kreider said. “This recognition is a tribute to the hard work of dozens of current and former doctoral students, staff members, and research associates who have contributed to ESNL research and made a significant impact in the field of sport nutrition.”
