Drs. Mubosa and Ponjuan Join the Department

The department welcomes Dr. Glenda Droogsma Musoba and Dr. Luis Ponjuan as Associate Professors of Higher Education Administration beginning August 1, 2012. We are excited to have them join our faculty!

Dr. Musoba earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University and joins us from Florida International University. Her research focuses on access and equity in higher education admissions and retention, particularly the relationship between these issues and underrepresented minority and low-income students. She has previously taught courses in Higher Education Finance, Access and Choice in Higher Education, Foundations of Educational Research, and Leadership in Higher Education. Dr. Musoba’ s demonstrates a commitment to student access and success in higher education.

Dr. Ponjuan received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and comes to us from the University of Florida. His research agenda relies on a social justice perspective and focuses on improving Latino students’ postsecondary degree completion rates, understanding undergraduate students’ science research experiences, and exploring the work experiences of faculty members. He has taught courses in Higher Education Research Design and Methodology, Theories of Student Development, Access and Equity in Higher Education and College and University Teaching. His professional work experiences spans over 20 years and reflects a commitment to access and equity for underrepresented student groups and faculty members of color.
