New Center Approved

In August, the Board of Regents approved the Center for Research and Development in Dual Language and Literacy Acquisition (CRDLLA). This center will provide leadership in research, assessment, and development to enhance success of second language learners in schools to achieve academically through programs which promote dual languages and English language and literacy acquisition.

The CRDLLA is proposed as a center at Texas A&M University (Texas A&M) to be housed in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). Faculty from several CEHD programs will conduct collaborative research and engage in instructional and outreach activities that will benefit the university, state and nation.

The mission of the CRDLLA is to serve the citizens of Texas as well as the nation. The primary goal of the center will be to provide leadership in research, assessment and professional development to enhance academic success of second language learners through programs which promote dual language and English language and literacy acquisition.
