A record crowd of strength and conditioning decision makers participated in a two day clinic on campus.
The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Texas State Clinic, “Basics and Beyond: Implementing Foundational and Specialized Program Training Strategies” brought over 200 participants to Texas A&M University to learn more about creating effective strength and conditioning training programs.
Keynote speakers included Lance Walker, global performance director for the Michael Johnson Performance centers and Michael Brungardt, former strength and conditioning coach for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.
The clinic was also an opportunity for students in the Department of Health and Kinesiology to present and give examples of their research to the group.
The event was hosted at HLKN’s Physical Education Activity Program Building. High school and college coaches, physical trainers and physical therapists from across the state attended the two day clinic.
The clinic was sponsored by the Department of Health and Kinesiology, College of Education and Human Development and NSCA, a nationwide nonprofit educational organization and authority on strength and conditioning,
Selected speakers will be posted to the HLKN YouTube page over the coming days.
