Shaw-Ridley Attends NIMHD Translational Health Disparities Course

Mary Shaw-Ridley, director of the Center for the Study of Health Disparities, recently participated in the inaugural National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Translational Health Disparities course.The course was set up to talk about research aims, work outcomes, collaborations and future endeavors in the world of health disparities. The course also gives participants opportunities to share funding opportunity announcements related to health disparities research. The NIMHD has supported the training of more than 2,000 health professionals with an interest in health disparities research through loan repayment awards. It has funded more than 88 centers of excellence around the nation to conduct research on health disparities in many disciplines and on a variety of topics.
