Dr. Andy Pittman, a clinical associate professor for sport management, co-authored an article published in the International Journal of Sport Management this month.

The article titled, "Don't Sit There... or There... or There: An Analysis of Ball Park Protection and Foul Ball Injury Risks" is a statistical analysis of foul ball injuries in baseball. As a result of a review of literature, several variables were identified and analyzed to predict the success of a person injured by a foul ball in being compensated for their injuries. Over 80 court cases from 1913 to 2008 were analyzed. As a result of this research the most dangerous areas of baseball stadiums were identified and recommendations made to help make ball parks safer.

Dr. Pittman has co-authored three books, authored and co-authored eight book chapters, and 28 journal articles.
