Two students from the department have been accepted to the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research Summer Immersion Program in health disparities.

Charles Rogers and Katrina Serrano were selected to participate in the Summer Immersion in Health Disparities Research program (HDR) at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). This 10-week program supports eight students in a summer experience designed to engage them in health disparities research/practice and inspire them to choose a career focused on eliminating health disparities.

During the program, both Charles and Katrina will participate in ongoing research with a mentor, join with others in a group virtual research project and help with learning materials that explore substantive, methodological, and career issues in health disparities research.

Of the eight spots offered, two were awarded to students from Health and Kinesiology. The summer practicum begins June 6th.
