Three HLKN Student Athletes on Academic All-Big XII Team

Three students from the Department of Health and Kinesiology are among 46 student-athletes honored to the 2011 Academic All-Big XII Women's Basketball Team. Senior Maryann Baker was named to the first team, while senior Catherine Snow and junior Adaora Elonu earned second team recognition.

This is Baker's second straight year to receive be honored by the Big XII. The sport management major holds a 3.504 GPA and has received the Team Academic Award the past two seasons.

Snow, a kinesiology major, garnered their first career nod on the second team with a GPA of 3.00.

Elonu made her second consecutive appearance on the second team with a 3.010 GPA as an allied health major. Nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services, the women's basketball academic all-league squad consisted of 30 first team members combined with 16 on the second team.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
