Two Education Faculty Members Receive Assistantship Awards

Jamilia Blake and Jorge Gonzalez, both assistant professors in the Department of Educational Psychology, received the Pathways to the Doctorate Research Assistantship Award for the 2010-2011 academic year. These awards will assist Blake and Gonzalez in recruiting and providing funding for a graduate student in their area of emphasis - school psychology. The total award for each faculty member is $36,000. The Texas A&M University System "Pathways to the Doctorate" program is dedicated to increasing the number, quality and diversity of master's and doctoral graduates by creating pathways for students to pursue graduate education.
