Two Texas A&M Education Faculty to Release Book at AERA Meeting

Texas A&M University education faculty members Valerie Hill-Jackson and Chance Lewis will release their new book, "Transforming Teacher Education: What Went Wrong with Teacher Training and How Can We Fix It," at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Education Research Association (AERA), which opens Friday (April 30) in Denver, Colo.

The text, co-edited by Hill-Jackson and Lewis, features the work of Linda Darling-Hammond, Martin Haberman, Peter McLaren, Jennifer Rice and other scholars in the field of teacher education. Stylus Publishing is the publisher.

Hill-Jackson and Lewis will hold a book-signing at 2 p.m. Sunday (May 2) at the Stylus Publishing booth in the Colorado Convention Center.

Hill-Jackson is a clinical associate professor of culture, curriculum and instruction in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture (TLAC) at Texas A&M. Lewis holds an endowed chair and is associate professor of urban education in TLAC.
